In 2006 we began a search for a few good men and women, and girls and boys to join our Volunteer 'Army' to assist the competitors from around Australia and the world, all coming to Canberra for the Crowne Plaza Canberra Half Ironman Triathlon in December.
We've continued to learn a lot and further improve our Volunteer program, and again this year we've revamped the volunteer program even further, whilst growing it a whole lot more...
So, are you interested in joining our X-Tri team as a Volunteer on the day, or for the entire weekend of December 14/15 2010?
We'd be so pleased to have you along as support from a great many people will make the event all more the merrier and a truly memorable event for everyone there.
We need volunteers in many areas from Team Liaison to Medical, from Aid Station Helpers to Communications, Registration and so much more...
The prime areas for volunteers are:
1. Aid Stations - (Aid Station manager and station crew)
2. Road (bike) Marshals - must be over 18 - (keep the bikes going in the right direction)
3. Finishline catchers - (keep the finishers upright)
4. Medical - Doctors, Nurses and first aiders... (Get the athletes back on their feet)
5. Run Course Marshals (Keeping the competitors on the right track)
6. Registration / administration volunteers (Helping at Registration)
7. Course Set up crew - (the swim, bike run and around HQ crew)
9. Competitor liaison (good to have a background in triathlon for this one...)
The more the merrier; the more memorable the event will be and the greater the experience will be for all competitors and especially our international visitors.
Please complete the following form, and we'll be happy to enlist you in the Volunteer Crew for the Crowne Plaza Canberra Half Ironman Triathlon set for December 12/13 and the preceding days.
NOTE: Under SUBJECT please list the area in which you feel you have the most skills EG: Aid Stations, Medical, Transport, Athlete Liaison, Registration, Marshals (various areas), even group coordinators and in more senior areas also.
You can also choose to be placed within an overall group of people or community group for a specific task and we'll do our best to match every one with a task they want to do...
Cheers
